dssi-vst doesn't open

I open up a new thread here as it is a new problem.

When I try to open dssi-vst and double-click it, the plugin selection window closes but there is no dssi-vst opened.

as said, dssi-vst is about to present and list windows VSTs that are found under the directories listed on VST_PATH env.var.

one question, do you have any windows VSTs around? 2nd. question: do you have VST_PATH set with the directories where they are located, if any? if either case is false, then, nothing appears on qtractor's plugin selection window.

Yes, I got plenty of windows VSTs but I have not set the path. I have looked but can't find a decent tutorial for this. Any links or tips what exactly I should do?

VST_PATH it's a environment variable, you usually may set into your user's shell profile (~/.bashrc) if you want it permanent, otherwise you just try from the command line:

export VST_PATH="/path/to/windows/vst1:/path/to/windows/vst2"

and there launch a DSSI host like qtractor under the same terminal console session.

ps. my knowledge about dssi-vst goes about there and stop. let you know that i don't recommend the use of dssi-vst at all, because it's about running windows plugins in wine and neither the plugin vendor nor me will help you if you run into trouble. and you will, in no time (hope it doesn't wipe your disk or else ;))
