qjackctl

Hi

After setting up qjackctl in ubuntustudio, I do not want to use X any longer but boot into command line only.

Now qjackctl complains:
qjackctl: Cannot connect to X-server

How can I tell qjackctl not to connect to the X-server?

I have already tried to set

qjackctlMainForm\visible=false

in the config file. But the main window still opens up when restarting.

Hello. My problem with qjackctl is the following one. My computer works under Windows XP. I would like to read Midi files with Seq24 and to use an instrument of Hydrogen. But I do not manage to enter the window " Audio Jack Connection Kit " the software. Can you help me?

Is there anywhere I can specify -I & -O options when using the "firewire" driver? I see it available with freebob and I can specify latencies starting jackd from the command line (which has the required result BTW.)

In other words I need qjackctl to output this:
/usr/bin/jackd -P82 -t5000 -dfirewire -I309 -O309 -r48000 -p32 -n3

Is there a possibility to add support for aj2midid in QjackCtl? It's a neat little command line tool for showing up hardware-midi-keyboards as jack-midi connections.

I tried putting 'a2jmidid -e' as a command to start after jackd in QjackCtl's set-up optionsl but QjackCtl hangs as the a2jmidid thread stays open until it receives a control-c to stop the bridge.

Perhaps you have a better idea.

$ qjackctl -v
Qt: 4.6.2
QjackCtl: 0.3.6

When i start qjackctl it tries to start jack, but fails. this is because of incorrect jack parameters, so it's only a matter of opening the jack settings within qjackctl to try to resolve the problem.

however, every 30s or so it tries to start jack (which obviously fails), which spawns an error message, which gets focus, so every 30seconds i need to click it away. this makes me crazy. i found no way in the settings (or as commandline argument) to turn off the auto-retry.

I am german. I am no musican. But i like to make noise and not really satisfied by "Magix musikmaker" under windows.

I work on a preconfigured ready to run startscript for Ubuntu Audio Studio. For beginners like me.

I dreamed about some arrangements that work when I start them and give sound, and i can change before i have to spend weeks of trying and investigations and looking for no documentation.

Maybe there will be some more for different example arrangements.
