Qtractor - A MIDI/Audio multi-track sequencer
Amazing accomplishment! Thank you for everything you've done!
Hello ,
I try to learn Qtractor and using in my projects enjoying and admiring.
In my last project i used some plugins and record sound thru my MIDI keyboard.
To do this i created a separate midi tracks and buses and used a synth (ACE fluintsynth) and a reverb (Calf reb) plugin in the busses.
In the synth plugin set sf2 soundfont (Yamaha c5..)
evrything was fine but afterwards i didnt like the piano sound and decided to refine it.
The problem is when i change the plugins even delete all the sound doesn't change .
I wrote the little HowTo 9
Don't work:
Options/Plugins/Presets_LV2 button
The countdown respects the assigned time of the measures, but does not sound.
Neither with the audio metronome, nor with the midi.
I don't know if it's just happening to me or if it's a bug.
As I have read in another thread on this forum, Track0 contains metadata.
But what use is it to appear on the list and be counted as a track?
As far as I know we can't put it to any use. It is totally inconsequential data for the user.
In fact it confuses. A ghost track0 appears.
Further to my Ryzen 7 issues vis-à-vis qtractor, ardour and rosegarden, I finally resolved it by installing Ubuntustudio 20:04. Qtractor now runs fast with no problems. The only downside is that ubuntustudio 20:04 only has fluidsynth as a stand alone, whereas I was used to it being available WITHIN the dssi plugin menu in qtractor, which was the default behavior in Ubuntustudio 21:10 onwards. Is there any way for me to make qtractor find it as a plugin?
A question to which I strongly suspect the answer is "no", but I'd love to be proved wrong:
Is is possible to change track settings - specifically the chosen MIDI instrument - part of the way through a track?
For instance, if I specify "Flute" for a track, is it possible to use part of that same track with "Piccolo" as the instrument? Or must I always have 2 separate tracks, even though the 2 instruments are never required to sound at the same time?
Hi,
I just pulled and comiled from master and my mixer's tracks are now wrapped. Is this a new thing?
Take care
In my previous project, I had 4 midi tracks. each with a different instrument sound. In each track I added sfizz as a plugin, and then specified the required sfz file for the appropriate instrument. I have no idea if this is the best way of doing it, but it worked.
In my new project I thought I could do something similar, except that for this one I am using FluidSynth sounds. I have added FluidSynth as a plugin in each track and then specified the instrument,
