What is a inactive clip?
I should probably know this but what is a "inactive" clip? I ask in order to understand this.
Thanks in advance,
Qtractor - A MIDI/Audio multi-track sequencer
I should probably know this but what is a "inactive" clip? I ask in order to understand this.
Thanks in advance,
I introduced a new VST2 plugin, started Qtractor and expected to see a new scan occur as per the usual routine of adding a plugin to a track. The new plugin wasn't detected and nothing I did resulted in triggering a scan.
I found a work-around.
Options / Plugins / Paths
When I unlink a clip I can't undo this action. Bug or feature?

I prefer linear curves. Qtractor uses quadratic curves each time, so I have to change the curve each time in the dialog.
Is it possible to set the default curve to linear?
I think I can remember that it's not possible at the moment to add a button "edit audio file in external editor".
Since the audio file name is displayed this is no big problem. But I have to reload the Qtractor session to reload the changed audio file.
Is it possible to add a button "refresh/reload audio file" (but not that ugly as in the attached pic) :)

Since there is no meter to show the mixdown of all buses during playback, I've been using X42-meter for this. The main reason is that it will show me the clipping that would be heard on export (but not during playback).
However, I've just noticed that there is about a 10dB difference between Qtractor's master bus and X42's. In the screenshot below, it is just the master bus; so, they should be identical.
I would like to use Qtractor mainly as a plugin host and not as a ”sequencer”. I can do that using buses, but is it possible to use multiple tracks and have all of them producing sound simultaneously? This mode of operation must be possible without any user intervention, i.e. after program start incoming midi will trigger all defined tracks to produce audio output (no mouse or key actions required).
If that is not possible, is it possible to make the tracks pane ”invisible”? It occupies the majority of the program window and if not used I would like it not be shown.
Greets once again,
I've been exploring this routing strategy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pA-aLyHEqRg
While I'm not entirely sold on it yet (over using Carla as a middle-man), I'd be curious to know if anything can be done to make working with these inputs a bit more user-friendly.
It would be nice if we could name these ourselves (so long as they're unique).
Amazing accomplishment! Thank you for everything you've done!
