Reverb/Chorus don't work on first Qsynth engine

qsynth 0.3.8

The reverb and chorus don't seem to work on the first engine instance. If you add an engine they work there.

Hmm now it looks like the particular soundfont I was using didn't work with effects.

I don't know how that could be but I tried a different font in first engine and it worked fine.
