I need help getting qmidinet on my linux machine to connect with ipmidi on my mac. I once had multimidicast (linux) communicating with ipmidi (mac), but can't get that to work either. Can someone help me troubleshoot my problem? Thanks for any help.

first stop is about reviewing the (paranoid) firewall rules re. your local network.
second, you must be aware that udp/ip multicast only works over a type/class c network segment, usually in the inside of your LAN/switch segment--so no, not thinking over the internet or WAN/router, correct?
