Gain in qsynth

Although I can set gain -g4 in CLI, qsynth refuses to go beyond 2.0
Even changing /etc/default/fluidsynth has no effect.
Even starting qsynth like ..qsynth -a alsa -g3 .. has no effect.
can I change this elsewhere ?
So i have to start fluidsynth per cli .
I'm running Ubuntu 24.04

no, you can't
2.0 is the absolute maximum you can set on qsynth ever since for two decades now.
