Hi, I'm totally new to Linux and I need an IPmidi replacement to make my SSL Nucleus V2 work with Reaper. I downloaded the AllImage for QMidiNet but when I run it nothing happens.
I tried to understand the installation instructions but I don't have enough knowledge to manage it, that's why I downloaded the Appimage instead. How do I make this work? I use Fedora 40.
Thanks
re. Install AppImage on Fedora
hi,
have the notion first, that qmidinet should run in the background and its GUI is only accessible as in the system-tray (aka notification-area in some DEs, like, uh-oh,... gnome)
this is no matter it's the AppImage or the native built binary/package.
anyway, idk what you really wishing to achieve but, once qmidinet is up and running, you'll need to make some connections (via JACK or ALSA-MIDI) using your preferred or favorite connection manager and so called patchbay, eg. qjackctl, qpwgraph, raysession, carla, patchage, etc. your choice.
otherwise we're kinda both lost
cheers
