It seems 0.9.6 depends on libfluidsynth3 which, from an Ubuntu perspective, is only available in 22.04 (Jammy). Is there anything that can be done to get this easily installed on 20.04?
you may find it in the repos, especially the PPAs while specifically for 20.04 you may find libfluidsynth3 in Libraries (focal).
note that it's only that particular package (libfluidsynth3) that should be installed: do not try to upgrade if you wish to remain with the current official ubuntu ones (fluidsynth, libfluidsynth2, etc. that might be dependencies for some other stuff that may rely upon besides qsynth (eg. lmms, iirc.:).
