And about multilayer, yes it is for velocity and feel of a real drum. Even if I play "electronic" music, I still need more flexible sound.
Try a real drummer snare roll midi sample with singlelayer and multilayered drum banks, it's a big difference! And not only for a drummer, multilayered bass, guitar, brass, piano sampler - it would be cool to. But I understand, it's to complicated for a proto-toy :)
