That's not an option. Paraphrasing: I don't need a project readme, I need to comment lines of code.
The idea is to create commented templates (project properties also don't work with templates).
Imagine distributing complex templates that extend the functionality of Qtractor, or simply for tutorials etc.
Being able to insert notes within the signal flow (plugin box) allows to clarify and facilitate the understanding of processes. Add warnings etc.
I'm looking at how to do the "How to", and I've come to the conclusion that it's such a complex process to understand, that the simplest thing would be:
1) Provide a template with everything already configured.
2) Explain how to operate with the template (even if the user doesn't really know what's happening).
3) Explain, now, how the template works, what's happening. And this would allow the final step.
4) Explain how to modify the template to create new templates.
I'll give you the template I'm developing, let's see if you know how to operate with it. The template creates an internal MIDI Controller with its own identity and separate from the normal MIDI tracks. Includes individual controllers and a group controller. It's as if a MIDI Controller with automatitation had actually been developed using C++ programming. The programming in this case is done with MIDI filtering and following some rules of use.
Imagine if I could clarify with a note at the beginning of the plugin listing for each track instructions for use and what is really happening.
You would certainly know how to operate the template. Modify it, customize it, and even expand new functionalities with the concepts learned.
