I've noticed that the layout of the elements affects the appearance a lot.
I found this one. It looks more organized with better defined sections.
I'm finding that defining the different sections with styles is what helps readability and gives a more solid look.

I'm preparing a legacy version (without url() backgrounds) with small improvements in the definition of sections.

Then I have to experiment with backgrounds to create styles for Qtractor versions higher than the current one in progress that will already support backgrounds.
