now, on a more serious approach: both have been always stopping normal playback when on; and always been resuming (normal) playback when off (or does it not? I sense that what you're telling is that is doesn't at all)
qtractor has no varispeed feature (formerly akin to ardour) so the rwd and ffwd transport commands are, as have always been, kinda blunt fake versions of it xD
No, until you fixed the missing SPP it behaved as in the screencast for as long I can remember back. I liked this behaviour.
Playback was resumed after rewind/ff if it was active before.
