Free software chord plugin?

Wondering if anyone can suggest a freely licensed chord plugin? Ideally such a thing would allow me to hit a single note and present me with endless hours of chords to choose from. The selected chord would be audible (suggesting the plugin's MIDI output would be routed to the MIDI input of something that generates sound) and be displayed on a piano-ish layout so I'd be able to see what is happening.

Of course, some aspects of the above could also be incorporated in the plugin itself if it were capable of producing audio.

I had previously cobbled together a workflow involving Carla, Qtractor, and jack-keyboard but haven't used it in some time since it really didn't provide "options" in the way I'd like. In other words, I can only imagine a purpose-built plugin would be much more fun and useful to work with.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

a shot in dark: https://github.com/trackbout/ripchord ?

dunno absolutely whether it builds, runs or barely fills the prospect--one never knows until his/her hands get dirty ;)

cheers

Hey. Great lead! This thing is great and certainly worth playing around with. Much better than the scrappy workflow I had previously cobbled together. Here are just a few thing I've discovered in the past few minutes...

The project has been forked to prg318/ripchord where the most recent builds include VST3 and clap support for GNU/Linux.

I couldn't figure out how to build the source with Projucer but luckily builds have been provided.

I don't know why the plugin has audio outputs (yet?) but I got it to make noise with some basic routing in Carla

ripchord-carla

The plugin appears to offer exactly what I was looking for (I think?) and I'll provide more insight in the event I figure out a way to make it work exclusively in Qtractor.

Thanks again.
