Hi Rui

As always, many thanks for your prompt and professional replies.

Is there a reason why "snd" appears in both RTIRQ_NON_THREADED="rtc snd" and RTIRQ_NAME_LIST="rtc snd usb i8042"?

Does this mean the snd devices have an IRQ but are not threaded? Should this also apply to firewire devices?
