there's a mistake of mine earlier, sorry.

Ctrl+S is NOT defined as a one of keyboard shortcuts while on the MIDI clip editor window (aka. piano-roll editor), so pressing that particular key combination won't do anything at all if the MIDI editor window has focus (unless of course you re-define it through the Help/Shortcuts dialog).

Ctrl+S is only defined for the main tracks window and there it does save the "whole show" indeed.
