i have only a cross to close the window, i can not minimize or enlarge it.
that is not what I have here (kwin): the "maximize" button next to the "close" button on the mixer window top frame is meant to be always there...
don't really know what XfceWM or whatever is smoking :) maybe that's one reason (rather just a nitpick sure) for what UbuntuStudio is about to switch to KDE Plasma on its next release?

ps. but you can still resize the mixer window anyway, by dragging the window frame borders, can't you?
pps. although losing its main purpose you may try turning off this View > Options... > General > Options > Keep tool windows always on top.
