Piano Roll Editor Suggestion

Forums

First of All i have to tell that i don't have a MIDI keyboard(although Can't afford to buy one), so i have to make music with mouse, keyboard and hand(Imagine how pain it is..) There are simple suggestions from me:-

1) Overlay the Piano Keys on roll Editor(And have a option under view to Enable or Disable under view menu)
Example Implementation is VMPK(screen-1 Below).

2) Display the same Keys on the grid all along the track on fixed positions(Also have a option to enable or disable under view menu)
Ex. Implement. is lmms(screen-2,screen-3,screen-4 below).

These above features don't make it awesome but atleast makes it comfortable
If i want to make music without that pain i had to buy MIDI keyboard(although Cannot)
But anyway rncbc try to impl. them if u have time and interest(No forcing u) it makes a poor man's job somewhat easier....
if others have any ideas and suggestions please post them here.

Cheers

there's this (menu) View/Tool Tips option, i guess it's on by default, where the note name is show in a floating balloon (tool tip) whenever you hover it with the mouse.

it's not what you asked but it's one already there to help you; also, if your current color scheme is not way too dark, the sharp notes (piano black keys) are also painted as a darker background lane.

i'm afraid i don't quite understand what 1) Overlay the Piano Keys is all about... is it having note labels over the vertical piano keyboard on the left? once again tool tips it's the only help you can get atm.

cheers

Yes, I am aware of that but u know when composing it's not that efficient(atleast for me) because u have to hover, wait for a second and tooltip is up and then decide whether to add notes or not and if u decide to add a note and added it , again the same repeats . which is not only ridiculous in long term, but also very inefficient and sometimes it makes me mad....

Actually i have no problems with color scheme, it's awesome

Exactly, u understood it very correctly..

I once thought the same thing at beginning but matter is getting worst so i posted for help. Anyway it's not a 'need-it-now' feature but i look forward to it very eagerly.

cheers
