alsa

Hi all..

I use qtractor in Ubuntu Studio and I love it.. But I only use Ubuntu Studio for music, I use Zubuntu for my day-to-day distro. Thing is, I often get the urge to pick up my electric guitar and have a quick twang, but to do that through my PC means re-booting into Ubuntu Studio so I can fire up jack..

So, my question is, is there a bit of software out there that I can use with the alsa setup in Zubuntu..? Does not have to be high quality or with loaded features, just to amplify my guitar would do nicely, every search I made comes up with jack driven software only..

After reading through a number of posts, this seems to be knowledgeable group. :) Does anyone know if it's possible to add a "through" or "bypass" to ALSA? I have everything working but I need to get a left and right channel out of the system to record. I've read through a number of articles on ALSA configuration but have failed to find an answer. I can't take recording outputs from the "master out" of qtractor because it's only processing midi. I believe it's doable in pulseaudio but there is no pulseaudio install (I removed it). Strictly ALSA currently.

The following effect occurs on Fedora 21 and KXStudio 14.04 and occurs with KDE, LXQT and openbox desktops.

Excessive xruns occur when:

- a window is drag and dropped by the title bar with the mouse

- the contents of a window are scrolled with the centre mouse wheel

- the mouse hovers over a control, e.g. with hint.

Does this effect occur with other systems / desktops and is there a known solution or workaround?

Since you worked with us428control code do you think you could add this for a new version? Al least a 'personal' version in your web site, not neccessary in the alsa cvs if you don't have the time to do.

Ah, do you know what happen to us428control -verbose mode?
'us428control -v' from a shell seems not working. Also with '-v 1' or '-v 2'.
