Hi All,
As most of you probably do not know, I have been writing the user/reference manual for Qtractor, using Rui's original White Paper as a start. It has grown from 11 pages to presently 26, with lots of illustrations. Still a long way to go, but presently useful.
I am to the point where I would like to add tutorials on various techniques of using Qtractor, to make it easy for first timers to get started (or even for experienced users to get new ideas).
It might even be useful to supply some sample Session projects with compressed audio files as examples (no more than 15-30 seconds total). These of course would have to be completely original and free of any copyright restraints, and include some type of free artists license statement.
Anyway, I'm looking to you folks, the real users, to write some short tutorials that I can copy and paste into the user manual, and maybe even provide downloadable tutorial session projects. Are you folks up to this task?
Please? :)
You may email me directly using lacojim at gmail dot com, if you prefer.
Sincerely,
Lexridge
Re: Qtractor manual
Thank you Jim, you're doing a hell of a job.
It is with great joy that I look forward to this. As you all might also infer, I myself am not very good on documenting things--take the infamous QjackCtl Patchbay functionality, for instance--it's that old developer excuse all over again :D But look, it's all you, the user in you, that really counts.
I'm sure that even the least, minor or tiny, user experience and contribution will be highly appreciated and cherished. And even if that experience is no better than just under-satisfactory, I'm sure it can only be regarded here as an opportunity for improvement and, you know, fostering excellence. By all means ;)
All the best!

P.S. A first version of the manual will be tagged this week-end, as will qtractor 0.1.1, the futile duchess :)
