My inner marketing guy has channeled this message through the account of the eternal Rui worrier, danboid!
Ye qtr homepage currently has this to say about what just is qtr:
Qtractor is an Audio/MIDI multi-track sequencer application written in C++ with the Qt4 framework. Target platform is Linux, where the Jack Audio Connection Kit (JACK) for audio, and the Advanced Linux Sound Architecture (ALSA) for MIDI, are the main infrastructures to evolve as a fairly-featured Linux desktop audio workstation GUI, specially dedicated to the personal home-studio.
How about:
Qtractor is an Audio/MIDI multi-track sequencer for home and small studios based upon GNU/Linux, JACK, ALSA and Qt4. Its fast, lightweight, alpha and small enough to fit on a floppy disk.
?
Even if you prefer the current text, I'd recommend you get the 'qtractor fits on a floppy' in somewhere as I think its marketing / geek gold - not that you're selling anything so I understand if you're not too bothered.
re. What is qtractor?
nice try.
who remembers what is a floppy disk anyway?
xD
Floppies Forever aka mines smaller than yours
I felt I had to suggest adding the floppy bit to the qtractor intro because I have noticed that whenever people are talking about their favourite aspects of REAPER, its small size nearly always comes up.
The current REAPER installer for Windows is about 7MB but of course that is compressed. The uncompressed qtractor binary is still less than 1MB making it over 7x better for small DAW fetishists so I think you should exploit your DAWs petiteness.
