Qtractor for MeeGo

Forums

Hello Rui,

what do you think about a qtractor-version for Meego? I seen a vid about indamixx on meego, so i thought about this idea. Maybe with a simple interface to play something live or with some fast editing, recording and so on? The indamix has very small elements in the gui and if you would use qml i think with bigger elements, buttons and so on it can be used simple with fingers on tablets. i play in a church band and i think about play intros with a tablet or a drumline, effeckts and so on. So selecting from things in qtractor must be easy use with fingers. i told you in another topic about musikmaker wich has bigger elements for some stuff. i think qtractor is grow enough so you must only think about a simple interface for tablets. What do you think?

best wishes, Gerhard

a very interesting idea, nevertheless it should be possible to run qtractor as is on a tablet, although it won't do with any multi-touch gimmicks :)

Having a special tablet dedicated version is currently beyond any planned horizon, so sorry. I can hardly cope with the regular version development. Look, this is all done on my spare, hobby quality time and there are promised features far far overdue already ;)

Meanwhile, if you may, I'll tell you this kinda anecdote:

When it was first presented to the world, during the LAC2007@TU-Berlin, Qtractor was then about considered to be one of the key applications of the, by then in-flux development, Trinity Audio Group ultra-portable devices. Eventually, you may know that by now, it evolved to be Indamixx today :) Quite frankly, those guys could not afford my slow and partial dedication to the project and very well decided to go with energyXT2 instead. And that was it. World just doesn't stop for procrastinators like me :))

But you still could contact the Indamixx guys. They're really betting on the MeeGo tablet platform and doing a lot for adapting most crucial applications to those small form factor and touchable devices. They know best and how. To the contrary, I may only tell you old stories and apologies :D

Cheers && thanks anyway.
