Hi Rui,
When I set two loop points, then set the playback point inside the loop and start recording a track, my recording doesn't fall into the loop segment :( Sometimes it even falls way far from the initial point.
I do can think of a scenario for this "continue recording outside the loop" behavior (to use whatever already is in the loop as a base for the recording), although I'm not sure if this is the originally intended behavior. Besides I have a feeling that there might be some sort of timing or sync concern if the behavior is changed to accompany the loop playback.
What do you think?
Thanks,

Re: Recording from inside a loop
The recorded material, either audio or MIDI, is always displayed inside the loop range, folding over on each loop turn, while recording is engaged.
However, that might be just some visual helper or illusion. Once the take is done, that is, recording ends, the recorded clip unfolds to its regular time-line extension, as if it weren't recorded inside the loop.
That all means that loop-recording in qtractor does not equate to overdubbing. It doesn't split into take clips either (separate clips that would map to each loop turn and precisely overlap each other). Yet ;)
Cheers
