Qtractor Transport Mode button

Hi Rui,

Is there any documentation on the Transport Mode button ?

Example: Slave Node: X is disabled, Y is disabled and Z is enabled internally. Master Mode: X is enabled and Y is disabled. Full Mode: X is enabled, Y is enabled and Z is enabled.

Thanks, DaveMann

hi,

  • None = do not react nor even act and transmit any JACK transport state or information;
  • Slave = react on input from JACK transport (start, stop, play-head position) or JACK timebase (BBT, tempo, etc.) information; do not emit any on output;
  • Master = do not react to JACK transport input; transmit timeline state changes (start, stop, play-head position) to JACK transport and timebase information (BBT, tempo, etc.);
  • Full = same as Slave + Master; react and transmit JACK transport state and timebase information;

hth.

WARNING: or rather, some words of advice if pipewire-jack is your adopted production environment already: please, AVOID like the plague, ANY of the SLAVE modes (ie. Slave and Full above), unless you're willing to have some fun with random impromptu (transport relocation) glitches when hovering some widgets on your PW-aware DE - XD.

ps. lest to tell, genuine jackd is perfectly fine.
