Hi Rui,
I realized that Qtractor doesn't have an icon set, that's why, when I type Qtractor on synapse or gnome do, it's ico appears pixelated (at least I suppose that's the reason). So I was working in inkscape and decided to create an icon for Qtractor, first I tryed to recreate the one that already has but I'm not a designer and to draw such thing turned impossible to my very few designing skills.
I came up with this icon which meaning would be:
It represents a knob from a mixer, and therefore it relates to audio.
It has the shape of a "Q"
It resembles a tractor wheel...
So the sum would be Qtractor, an audio application.
As I don't know how I can contribute to this great project, this are my 2 cents (see attachments). If anyone like this I could try to do the whole iconset, with the different sizes. The thing is that I'm not a designer and there's tons of visual rules I'm sure I broke, so if anyone want to take this to start a new icon set I can email the .svg files.
Cheers

Re: Qtractor icon
i like it but (ain't there always a but? no pun intended:)... where's the relation to sound or music making in that concept ? just the (well, slight) knob form factor? i wouldn't figure it out by myself if you didn't tell me first hand :) yep, funny but true (to my aging eyes at least).
btw, just for the record, the original icon (if i can say so) is still available in its pristine scalable vector format (svg) from where i got it first well, sometime ago: Openclipart.org/music/Gramophone (allegedly by Andy Fitzsimon).
cheers
YOURE RIGHT!
Man, I missed that svg icon! That happens because I (almost) never pay much attention to the acknowledgments section :P
"Qtractor logo/icon is an original work of Andy Fitzsimon, borrowed from the public domain openclipart.org gallery."
My fault.
Anyway, sorry for the bother!
Cheers
Re: Qtractor icon
no need for being sorry, you're not bothering (me) at all. and you haven't done anything wrong in fact, quite the contrary
if that's your idea you can bother me all the time :)
cheers
Ok
Ok, see you around
