midi tempo and meter import problems

Forums

I have long found that Qtractor handles almost everything surrounding midi import very well except for tempo and meter changes in midi files. I can import a midi file exported from notation (musescore) into Ardour and all meter and tempo changes will be accurately mapped. I seem to recall older iterations of Qtractor that would do fairly well, mapping these data points, but now I see that it seems to ignore all changes in tempo and meter outside of the initial one. Sometimes it seems to stack up meter/tempo data in the first few measures, even though this isn't where it was placed in the file. Anyone else have this experience? If so, is there a work-around... perhaps editing the midi file to be read properly by Qtractor?

As a side note, I have also had experiences with Qtractor not persisting in changes to tempo and meter... but this was less concerning and less frequent.
