I want to use the x42-Autotune plugin, and it works fine when applied to a sound track, but I can't make it accept midi input to force the autotune to follow the midi notes. If I apply the plugin to a midi track, the plugin takes the midi input, but then there is no audio to autotune.
I found this: https://autostatic.com/2016/01/03/using-a-qtractor-midi-track-for-both-m... ,
which suggests to use an insert to insert the audio into the midi track that has the plugin, but it doesn't seem to work for me. Inserting audio to the midi track doesn't have any effect. Anyone found a way to use plugins that need both a midi and an audio input?
re. Autotune plugin accepting midi input
I suppose you're trying an insert on an audio track, sending into an insert return on a MIDI track, right?
thing is, the MIDI track's monitor should be turned on for the audio signal to get through the MIDI track and feed the autotune plugin (that follows the insert return)!
so,... make sure all plugins are activated and monitor is on on the MIDI track.
hth.
cheers
Thank you so much!
Thank you so much!
So my problem was that I had the audio track in a "voice" bus, and I connected the bus to the insert return on the MIDI track. That way it didn't work, but creating an insert in the audio track and connecting it to the insert return instead of the bus directly worked. I thought it was equivalent, I'm still not sure about the differences between creating inserts and connecting buses. Maybe connecting the buses only creates the connection, but not forces anything to go through it, and the inserts force the sound to flow through the connection, or something like that?
