Hi,
I followed the instructions to create a monoinput-bus and tried to record a guitar to it from my Alesis io|2.
It all worked fine when I recorded to the default Master. I can mark a track as record and even press record and I can see and hear the input working. But once I click on Play in the Transporter qTractor instantly crashes. Jackd and Hydrogen keep running.
The Problem is I can´t get any further information on the cause. The console just tells me "Segmentation Fault".
I could replicate the issue using another stereo Input Bus.
It´s really a pity since everything else is really awesome and latencies are great. Any ideas on what I´m doing wrong or how I can get more information on the subject? I couldn´t find a debug option or something...
Thanks for any advice,
Marcus
Re: Hard crash on Lucid when trying to record to another Bus
Which Qtractor version?
A very similar issue re. Input-only buses have been fixed on SVN trunk already.
If you think that's your case and you cannot try building from subversion source tree, please try changing those custom buses to "Duplex" mode instead of just "Input".

Hey, thanks for the answer. I
Hey,
thanks for the answer. I will try once I hit home. If it´s not working I´ll build from svn. Qtractor is awesome btw!
Great. Your workaround did
Great. Your workaround did it. No need to recompile. I can, for the first time in 8 years, use Linux as a fully working recording studio. Thanks to qtractor! I am seriously running out of excuses for not making music. ;-D
