Hello,
I use drumkv1 in my band to play drum samples.
Is there a possibility to play longer samples? I would like to play a sample that is about 30 seconds long.
Hi, thank you for your reply!
Unfortunately not. The sample is fading slowly out. I guess the playback takes about 5 seconds.
Here's a screenshot, maybe I did something else wrong. https://imgur.com/a/axQNGFG

well, yes, that's exactly what the DCA EG (Envelope Generator) is probably doing its due: just set Attack to 0%, Decay 1, Level 2 and Decay 2 to 100% and there you'll be good ;)
always remember that drumkv1 is rigged by default for one-shot percussion, short-attack, long-tail samples. yes, "drum hit" samples ;)
Hello,
I tried that, and the sample runs much longer, but not long enough. I'll probably have to look for another solution.
Drumkv1 would have been the easiest way for me because I'm firing many drum samples with it, and then I would not need any additional software.
Thank you for your help, and thank you for drumkv1! It's a great piece of software!
cheers
on those cases you can edit your sample file (eg. using Audacity or any other audio file editor) and add silence to the tail in as much of 50% of the original length; then setting Env.Time=Auto, DCA Attack=0, Decay1=Level2=Decay2=100 for that sample envelope shall be flat enough over the whole sample non-silent length..
just an idea.
cheers
re. Long samples
yes, adjust Env.Time accordingly: "auto" is your best bet for incredible long samples.
hth.
cheers
