Two of my tunes made with Qtractor

Hey guys! Hey Rui!

I am proud to present to you two of my tunes which I made with Qtractor.

The first tune might not be to everyone's liking, it is calm ambient and many might find it to be not challenging in terms of melodic movement as there is hardly any. Still it is a very personal tune and I hope someone might find it rather special.

Another, and possibly a much more interesting tune, is this second tune. It is called "Sunset" and it has been produced with Phasex and Rakarrack and several LADSPA effects and all recorded and put together with Qtractor. I use LADISH to save my studio and all the connections.
This is my first tune that has rhythm and structure and which has been produced using free software only and using modular setup.

Hope you enjoy it!

awesome! many thanks for sharing. i do like'm both :)

speaking of LADISH, but in a somewhat different direction, the lastet and greatest (ie. svn trunk) already is on its way with JACK session support (as is qjackctl as session manager, btw).

it would be interesting to have your genuine rolled-up-sleeves experience and opinion, of course ;)

seeya (lac2010?)

cheers

Meet ya there ;)
ps: I will arrive May 1st late at night, so unfortunately will miss the first day of the conference, just so that you know

Who is going to LAC2010 and silent as a partisan? <-- literal google translation.
look! it's in the conference programme, see Concerts & Installations or is it me you're calling? :)

Seeya

Yeah. I was to go but did not get a visa in time.

Hallo Rui

jackd starts perfectly as always with Qjackctl - see messages below.

Note the audio server is running at 96000Hz which is correct - however the QjackCtl panel is showing 48000Hz

Also when amSynth auto connects to Jackd 48000Hz is passed on to amsynth!

Any Ideas?

QjackCtl just reports the exact sample-rate the jackd server is actually driving the sound-card device.

That means, if you asked for a 96Khz sample-rate for instance on the jackd command-line and it ended as 48KHz on the QjackCtl panel (which as said is the final value reported by jack itself) then it is quite probable that your audio device or driver does not support functioning at 96Khz and it just fallback to 48Khz. Business as usual ;)

Cheers

Mea Culpa - not only did I put this in the forum but added to an existing thread instead of making new one. I guess that comes from burning the mid-night oil or was it playing in the midnight hour.

Your guess was right - my Behringer U-Control UCA222 only runs at 48Khz /24bit

Anyway don't stop the music...
