Rui!!! :)
My machine is busily compiling the latest version, so my query might already be addressed...
Can qtractor do MIDI loops? For example, record a two or four bar section, and loop that region? The reason I ask is that there is only one application that I'm aware of that does MIDI loops (seq24), and it isn't maintainted anymore. It would be great if qtractor could work this feature into this application, it would be a great feature to have!
Thanks for all your hard work!
Josh
Re: MIDI loops
Time-line based loops are supported and that applies to the whole arrangement, with loop points set vertically, which includes audio and MIDI clips of course.
Independent/synchronized looping of individual clips, as is featured by seq24, is not the kind of arrangement Qtractor is targeted. You can however emulate that kind of sequencing by copy and pasting, repeatedly along the time-line (eg. snapped to consecutive bars). Alas! Soon, there will be this new Edit/Paste Repeat... command that helps you on just that, saving you aplenty of mouse moves, clicks and keystrokes ;)
Take also note that loop recording (eg. split takes) is not implemented, yet. But punch-in/out is already a reality (at least on current CVS HEAD)
Cheers.
Rui, what you are describing
Rui, what you are describing would work out perfectly for what I need, so I am happy with this. Thank you!
I have some other questions that the manual didn't answer, but I'll post them in another thread as time permits.
Thanks again!
Josh
