MIDI clip fade in/out is indeed targeting note velocities.

What you ask will be hopefully addressed by the-all-mighty-automation feature still in the sketch-board :) When there, you'll be free to design the track/channel volume curves at will ... :)

It has been said, that this year is TYOQA (the year of qtractor automation). Let there be faith it will last shorter than TYOLD (the year of linux desktop) :D
