For me, "Edit Clip" edited the clip's content, not its container. And the container for me was the properties.
But now I understand. Qtractor sees midi information as part of the clip properties.
Thinking about it, it's an efficient and elegant solution.
But then, I think that if we're in the midi editor, the "Properties" button should be called: "Clip Properties in Track". This way we would differentiate between the internal properties of the clip (midi events) and the context properties in reference to the track (external properties).
And when we are in the sequencer it should be called "Edit Clip Properties" instead of "Edit Clip".
For my part, the solution will be that in my VTQ the editClip icon replaces the current pencil with a gear. That makes clear the concept that midi events are part of the clip properties.
And if the legend "Clip Properties in Track" is added within the editor, it would be clear that within the clip properties, in addition to midi events, there are the clip properties in reference to the track.
I just like to question these things. Don't take it too seriously. Thanks for your attention.
