Yea, I'll probably mess around with creating some icons for that purpose.
About the active piano, that's something that would be a huge win. I'm always clicking a note in the piano on screen and then finding it on the real controller.... so basically by ear. Years ago I actually added stickers to my controller's keys with the MIDI note numbers. That way (in Cakewalk), I'd have a quick and easy "map" to follow. That was more useful back then in a world when I'd do more "assigning" of things to specific MIDI notes. Now, it'd still be a big win but the lag in creativity is less disruptive. That said, I do recall hacking around the gap via one of the free software virtual controller plugins. Can't recall which one ATM but I'm sure you get the idea.
