Another note.
I use the Calf Eq as gain because it gives me decibel values (at least in the GUI), and I feel more comfortable with it than with the 0 to 4 range value that the Gain plugin offers.
Another advantage is that I already have a prepared Eq, which is usually needed most of the time. As for performance and consumption, if you don't have the Eq bands activated, it consumes the same as the Gain plugin. So for me with this configuration it's all advantages.
