good catch! confirmed, indeed, shortening a MIDI clip from the left-edge should do as the same to the audio clip as seen above: it should add an offset instead of virtually moving the sequence forward...
this maybe a leftover from some other fix even predating the unthinkable, now going to see whether it might not break anything else :)
