there's a new branch in town: xaudio-bus-aux
being one's attempt to cope with this whole mess...
some notes are due:

• aux-sends are not restricted to target audio output buses that are listed below or after the sending one anymore;
• ie. aux-sends to Master Out (audio) are now a valid working option;
• aux-sends now work on most if not all acyclic scenarios;
• though, it's not perfect, just one's best effort;
• do not expect that it will work wrt.(audio) track exports.

please test && tell.
