Sorry for late reacting,
YES !!, your latest setup "ejm_sidechain_NO-INSERT.qtz" using only auxsends is working here ( on jack without pipewire installed ).
In the kicktrack I had to switch the first plugin, the auxsend-bus from Master to SideCompressor.
Then I did save the project, reload the project and sidechain'd bassline is ducked.
So nice to have this issue tackled, thank you so much for your help !
