What you mean by MIDI moved further down the road when recording and looping?
Currently, recording is a linear editing operation, even though you're setting playback to loop. That should be the same for audio and MIDI recording. Although the visual play-head keeps turning around inside the loop-range, all recording goes virtually through the time-line as it were not looping.
(Damn, my broken english is showing its head :)
Don't let that refrain you from trying to explain, a little better, what's really puzzling you. Stubborn as I am, I might be overlooking something ;)
