yep. open View > Window > File System, navigate to the audio sample file you're up to and just play or double-click on it.

when happy you can of course drag and drop it over the main canvas/timeline...

this should work with any supported audio/MIDI file in your system: it plays out the dang file through the first output bus (usually "Master Out" or the dedicated "player" output bus/ports, if you've ever setup one, which I guess you didn't:)
