Hello friends, isn't there the possibility in the piano roll to implement a key scale? Or a function that selects a scale and identifies the notes for that melodic scale? In many DAWs it is available but in qtractor?
It is true that the note tracks that do not correspond to the scale are not grayed out (indicating disabled), but it will only allow you to edit notes within the scale.
thanks, it would have been more useful if the notes had been highlighted with the choice of scale to help those who don't know musical theory.
Could you tell me how you opened the midi tools (Beat) window?
re. Key scale
hi, unfortunately, there isn't any UI for you to edit the hard-coded list of key scales at this time... sorry :S
quite frankly there's a lot in the said list, what do you think is missing? if enough demand it can be added, hard-coded as well, in a next release ;)
cheers

Qtractor has that feature, but you may have it hidden.
In the editor menu:
View>Toolbar>Scale
In this screenshot, below the Beat indicator, you can see the scale:
C Chromatic

re. Key Scale
this is what we're talking about:
however, as G3N-es kindled stated, this only prevents from entering notes that don't belong to the selected key+scale--nothing more than that.
hth.
cheers
