Hi.
I was offline during the past seven months.
For a few days now I'm back online and wanted to try the latest Qtractor 0.9.26.
But I couldn't find the CONFIGURE script anymore.
After reading the information files I was trying CMAKE which returned error: CMAKE too old, newer version needed.
The same is with the nightly builds from launchpad. No CONFIGURE script anymore.
So, why was there a need to remove the ability to build just by CONFIGURE / MAKE?
Am I lost now in compiling the latest versions?
re. Compiling latest Qtractor 0.9.26 and above...
yeah, cmake 3.15 or above is now the norm...
but instead to compiling it from source you may well go with one of my repos, esp. https://launchpad.net/~rncbc and apply for the "Applications" PPA that fits best your current distribution release level (bionic = 18.04LTS; focal = 20.04LTS; jammy = 22.04LTS)
hth.
cheers
Ok, thanks.
Ok, thanks.
I downloaded 0.9.26.16 and it seems to work.
This means at least: as long as you are compiling binaries for Bionic, I'm able to update Qtractor.
Though, I'm wondering why the binary is working here, since I don't have QT6 installed, so I compiled always with: --disable-qt6.
re. wondering why the binary is working...
because the deb build is targeted to the existing Qt version there available: in bionic case it's probably Qt 5.9.5
cheers
