What about midi sustain data?

I've looking a really good videos of Carl Irwin. He uses qtractor like a pro. However, in a video he talks about the midi sustain data, and I don't really understand all the technician info. See, min 18:36 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjkLPJ_ry_w).
Carl talks that qtractor don't "save" the data of midi notes in the same place of midi sustain data. Please, What is the qtractor process for to save the midi sustain data?

hi, first we must ask what really is that "MIDI sustain data" ?
if it's about the MIDI CC#64 (Sustain pedal on/off) events, then you can be sure they are saved in the regular MIDI clip data (also a regular standard MIDI file, SMF).
maybe Carl (cfirwin3) can explain it better for us?
