Qtractor: move play head without shift
I referred to this.
the playhead moves only when zooming.

i don't get it. sorry. the screencast is not very clear though.
are you using the mouse-wheel to change zoom? if yes, are you clicking on the wheel as well? note that mouse-wheel usually emulates the middle button, so one action is moving the wheel (zooming) and other is clicking on it (set play-head).
can you give some more details of what's really happening?

yeah, Ctrl + mouse-wheel = (Zoom). not clicking on the wheel
Or (View-zoom), the play-head also moves.
the problem is that when you zoom +, zoom-. the play-head changes its place
This did not happen before, not that I remember.

aha. you mean the visual play-head, the vertical red line, is momentarily misplaced when zooming in or out. however, the actual play-head position is still correct eg. playback starts from correct absolute location.
and this has nothing related to the mouse-wheel at all.
yes, it's a bug, a dang old one i confess. old as ever :)
