yeah a newbie here...,,
rncbc can u please explain(briefly) all the build options(configure --help) just wanted to know if it's possible...
And there is also one question i need to know that why qtractor written in c++ using qt, i mean why not other toolkits(like gtk, fltk etc...) and why not other language(like c)..
It would be very helpfull to know, no any serious intention but just out of curiosity, who and where is the best place to ask than here........
Cheers :-)
re. Qtractor build and language doubt
re. configure options...
rationale goes like this: if your build ends up with no red colored lines on the Help/About... box then, please, don't really bother about it at all :)
re. programming language & toolkit choice...
are you kidding me? Qt and thus C++ are far and way (technically speaking) superior to ANY other application and GUI toolkit you may find around.
all and everything else is, as was, has been and still is (IMO) one of plenty and several greatest, rather terrible, waste of time and human resources in the known universe, for crying it out loud! :)
bottom line here: C is (very) well suited for OS low-level, tout couer machine-code level programming--consider it as mud level programming; C++ possibilities are far and too many of a spectrum spreading way above all that and more. (and happy to have all the C features at hand, nevertheless:)).
i used to say that C is from the 80's, C++ is from the 90's. everything else that came afterwards is BS.
:)

re. configure options...
Thanks man,...i got it on the qtractor homepage itself, infront of my eyes, but u know sometime human's stupidity gets a lot more stupid....
Thanks for ur opinion on programming languages's....

apropos C vs. C++
C makes it easy for you to shoot yourself in the foot. C++ makes that harder, but when you do, it blows away your whole leg. -- Bjarne Stroustrup

Yes, u are right but
Yes, u are right but programming is not all about selecting the language but programming is all about finding creative solutions to the old age problems....Language is all about choice...that's it, there is no need to debate about it......Bye

Program changes in Qtractor
Hello,
I've been using Qtractor for quite awhile now, and overall I like it and use it often. There is one thing that is starting to bug me, and I'm not sure if it is a configuration issue or a bug in the software.
When I set program changes in a midi clip, upon reloading the file, usually the track or tracks with said clips sets the program field in track properties to the value of the first program change. This is fine if it didn't prevent further program changes during the project. I am forced to go to every track that has drawn program changes and set the program field back to none if I desire multiple program changes.
Am I doing something wrong, missing something or is this a bug?
Thanks in advance for any input.

First, I just realize I posted under another topic, and I should have started a new thread. I am not aware of how to move my post.
Second, it seems I have found a workaround to my little dilemma. It may not be ideal, but if separate tracks are made, each containing the desired program changes ( meaning 1 track contains all the changes to one program number, and another track contains the changes to a different program number, etc ) it will work as expected. That's fine for me, because I like to keep my program changes to minimum, usually. But it would be nice to have the option of having all program changes on one track and having it work as expected.
re. Program changes in Qtractor
you're doing it right!
let me point you to some of several other threads where this subject is discussed ad nauseam :)
