Yet another batch of the Vee One Suite of old-school software instruments is out: synthv1 polyphonic synthesizer, samplv1 polyphonic sampler and drumkv1 drum-kit sampler, this time presenting their brand new icons while dropping the lamest old-schooler's out, in a master lesson taught by Jarle Richard Akselsen, thanks.
All still available in dual form:
All free and open-source Linux Audio software, distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL) version 2 or later.
Here goes the new triumvirate bunch again:
synthv1 is an old-school all-digital 4-oscillator subtractive polyphonic synthesizer with stereo fx.

Samplv1's MIDI channels
How can one know on witch MIDI channel samplv1 receives notes ?
See, I'm playing with harmonyseq here and I have it triggering three tracks of synthv1, and one track of drumkv1 with 3 samples loaded.
Everything works fine, but I ear everybody everytime, HSeq's "MIDI channel" control (one per track, 1->16) seems to be inoperant ; I know this is not the HSeq forum, I just want to know :
How can I know on witch MIDI channel a VeeOne instrument in standalone mode is supposed to receive notes ?
re. Samplv1's MIDI channels
the vee ones are NOT multi-timbral instruments;
in other words they respond to whichever channel you throw at them; in some other words they operate in OMNI mode;
when dealing with the standalone entities, each instance shall be responsible to its preset or settings (in case of samplv1, its sample preset).
otoh. when in face to LV2 plugins, each instance should be assigned to a MIDI track/channel at the host side; this is precisely what's done and accomplished in qtractor when inserted on MIDI tracks; but NOT on MIDI buses; the later case will certainly lead to the same plugin instance to play on every MIDI track/channel that converges to it.
hth.
cheers
Aaah.. I see. In this case,
Aaah.. I see. In this case, no LV2 involved, just plain jack/alsa plumbing, so it's a no go. Bouhou, I really like synthv1, light on my laptop, wherear yoshimi or AMS bring it to its knees...
Would that really be a paradigm break to consider a MIDI channel selector in the Vee instruments?
Thank you for your quick answer anyway

not quite a paradigm break... tbh. it would be of course feasible just not that right away or maybe ... ;)
cheers
UPDATE: on svn trunk today:- MIDI channel filter switch is now introduced. (applies to all vee ones v0.3.4.2+)
