Hi!
I'm just starting to use this impressive piece of software, that looks that it fits my need more than well!
I'm a bit noob as both musician and linux programmer, although programming is my profession (just not in linux and not Qt, yet).
I'm slowly making transition towards Linux and Qt at my work, but in mobile business...
However, rather than just becoming an average user, I'd like to learn a bit about Qt development in linux system, and maybe in the future even collaborate. What would be a better subject than linux audio stuff, cause music is my main interest?!
I'm planning to pull out the svn and try to build the QTractor from source. I'm assuming that I can have two versions alongside: one from repos for my "serious" audio work and custom build for testing/developing?
What is your suggestion as a development environment?
I'm using Eclipse (Carbide c.++) at work, so I'm familiar but not tied to that one. I know that this is a personal preference, but I'm looking for somekind of advice (pros, cons, etc.). I'd suppose that there are various other needs to fulfill also (dev libs etc.).
My computer is dual boot Ubuntu/AVLinux 4.0 , but I try to spend most of my time on the AVLinux side :)
Re: Suggestion for development environment
QtCreator is the obvious answer :)
It's all you need to churn your Qt C++ projects :) That's what I use and quite frankly I don't miss anything else. Also, it works the very same way in any O/S platform where it's available.
Cheers
Of course!
It was almost too obvious!!!! And there it is sitting right in the desktop of my work computer!
Thanks for quick response. I'm looking forward to find some spare time to try things out.
