This is just an idea to consider or not.
I've been thinking about how to set up the ability to assign properties to clips as a group.
I think that if you copy the properties of a clip, it would be feasible to make all the selected clips assign the property by copying and pasting properties.
The Volume/Gain property differs in MIDI and audio.
However, I have found that both start from a parent Clip Class with the same gain value that is then adapted to each type of clip. So you could select MIDI/Audio clips without conflict.
I'm not including the Offset and Start properties because although they are intuitive to assign from the clip by dragging its sides, they are difficult to conceptualize as values. I also can't think of many uses to apply these properties as a group.
This would be the idea:
It would be copied only from one clip, the one you right-clicked on. It would be pasted to all the selected clips.
However, controlling gain, fade in/out and duration in group mode would make audio cleanup and leveling much easier.
_For example_
1_
Recreate a noise gate: for a recorded percussion with much more control and consuming less resources than with a plugin. The audio is sliced, the beats are assigned the same duration and the same fade in+out is applied.
2_
Easily level the audio by slicing the unequal gain parts. Applying normalize, and then reducing the gain to the desired value before entering the plugin chain.
I've been thinking about what would be the easiest way to implement the group property assignment functionality, and this has been the conclusion, which may or may not be correct.
It's really a feature that I miss while working.
I just wanted to share it.
Greetings

re. Copying and pasting clip properties...
imo.
it would be a lot easier to have a clip properties dialog or form, that applies to multiple (selected) clips at once, something I believe you suggested in an earlier thread some time ago in the late year.
copying and pasting clip properties is adding yet another UI option, a new clipboard data type and a whatnot complication to a maybe rare use case.
so, imnsho. it's a polite nay. :)
