A quirky thing about the track plugin field

For context, I should explain I've recently settled on a really nice upgrade to my workflow where I have a single Scratch track I use to explore all my new ideas. The track has all the software synths loaded into it (enabled/disabled accordingly). Essentially, this cuts down on all the routing and setup needed and allows me to spring into creative mode instantly. Once I like what's happening, I can then duplicate the track and do all the things related to routing, cleanup, etc. It's nice.

qtractor plugins

So that's when I noticed the quirk. When you scroll up and down through the attached plugins, you'll switch context and start scrolling tracks once you "scroll" past the first or last item. While I grok that this could be seen as a feature, it feels more like an unintended side effect? It's just jarring to suddenly have the context change like that. I'm guessing it wouldn't be jarring at all if the number of tracks were under 10 since the "page" itself wouldn't really scroll but greater than 10 and it behaves more like an unintended "page scroll".

I noticed that, too. See attached screencast.

wow, you found a really nasty one ;)

is this too urgent for not letting me go with my vacations in peace? aha. np. I''ll look at it when quality time permits... meanwhile, i'd ask how many times you wheel-scroll on the plugins-box on a track and the mouse pointer goes off just a little off the box and starts pointing outside of it and thus affecting the vertical position of the overall view instead?

if never, then we have a case, if rarely then maybe it's not so bad :)...

byee

ps. anyway, I suspect this is maybe a Qt thing and again not worth the effort to come with a workaround which might even introduce yet some more quirks than single solving the one at hand.

Nothing quirky is urgent :D

As for your question about pointer placement, I mean.... if I move the mouse into a different context and scroll, that's correct behavior. If however, I'm in or on context1 and context2 is altered, that would be the undesirable thing.

How often do I "slip" from one context to another? I have no idea.

Have a good vacation.

Yes, it is. Thx Rui

Totally awesome. Gives the whole thing a more sturdy and exact feel.
