I introduced a new VST2 plugin, started Qtractor and expected to see a new scan occur as per the usual routine of adding a plugin to a track. The new plugin wasn't detected and nothing I did resulted in triggering a scan.
I found a work-around.
Options / Plugins / Paths
I just changed the order of my existing paths by clicking any one and whacking the "Up" button. I suppose this just updates a timestamp behind the scenes or flags the operation as being due for a scan. Anyway, restarting Qtractor and going through the exact same routine to add a plugin resulted in a scan taking place and the plugin revealed itself.
re. Trick to force a plugin scan
yet another trick is pressing Ctrl or Shift while hitting the "Rescan" button on the "Add Plugin..." selection dialog.
